Society Sop™️ (es-oh-pea) was founded in 2003 by artist and designer Marcel Kintay, who remains the owner and operator to this day.

"Clothing became the canvas — a way to bring my ideas and designs to life and share them with the world. I've made art for as long as I can remember, and fell in love with fashion at seventeen years old. Joining the two seemed like the most logical thing to do.

It would be several years after discovering my love for fashion that I created my first brand — using my own name. It stood out, but I knew I needed something else. Eventually, I landed on a concept from one of my old drawings: a man with the word SOCIETY spelled backwards across his jacket. It was different. It was perfect — a literal way to counter what the fashion world was doing.

The bike came later, when I wanted to pair an icon logo with the backwards wordmark. Skateboarding themes were dominating street fashion at the time, so there were endless skate brands out there, all emulating each other. With plans of staying in my own lane, I thought — why not create the first bike-themed street fashion brand? I can't skate, but I can ride a bike…The rest is history."
